About our Founder

Dannet Mitchell founded the Women In Fellowship and Encouragement (W.I.F.E.), also known as the we-4 ministry, 20 years ago. W.I.F.E.'s mission is to engage, encourage, equip, and empower women on their faith journey. The ministry creates gospel-centered opportunities for women, inviting them to passionately reflect on and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through biblical fellowship and accountability. 

W.I.F.E. offers a practical platform for women to support and mentor each other through their life stories and the Word of God. That is reflected in their welcome, worship, and walk.

Dannet, a native of the beautiful Caribbean Isle of Jamaica, currently lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2015, Dannet and her four children, Kameron, Christian, Gabrielle, and Benjamin, lost their dearly loved Edgar Allan Jr., who was a devoted husband and father. Today, they still reside in their family home in Philadelphia, where Edgar's legacy of love for family, ministry, and community influences their daily lives and encourages them to grow and thrive in everything they do. The family is active members of Risen Hope Church in Prospect Park, PA, where Pastor Alex Chen serves as the Senior Pastor. Dannet volunteers as Co-Leader of the Risen Women’s Ministry, supporting a diverse group of women in exemplifying the Titus 2 model of "the mature woman mentoring younger women." At Risen Hope, Dannet also leads the Risen Prayer Ministry, where her passion is helping the Elders foster a culture of prayer. She also teaches Bible Study, promoting Bible literacy—understanding God's Word through reading and comprehension for obedience and prayerful application. Dannet is deeply committed to helping women in her community grow in treasuring Christ and living out the gospel with grace and truth.

Beyond her ministry passions, Dannet serves in her community as the President and Co-founder of B.E.S.T. (Building Educational Success Together) Academies LLC, which she and Edgar started more than 20 years ago. B.E.S.T. Academies LLC acts as an educational support and training organization committed to preparing the next generation of learners to succeed at every level of academics and professional pursuits. Alongside her work and ministry, Dannet also actively homeschool her youngest son and finds great joy in practicing what she preaches at home, which she considers her first ministry.

Those who know Dannet well agree that she passionately promotes the message that educational, spiritual, emotional, and social development begins at home. Dannet demonstrates her love and commitment to a Christ-centered life by sharing fellowship, building relationships, and offering encouragement to all within earshot of the message of salvation, redemption, and spiritual victory.

Through the influence of solid doctrinal teaching from the pastoral leadership at Risen Hope and her personal passion for studying, researching, and practically applying God’s Word, Dannet has realized and upholds that, ultimately, our most important goal should be to treasure, proclaim, and deepen our fellowship with the Gospel and with other believers. Dannet has many favorite verses of Scripture, but the ones she most reminds herself to hold fast to are Col. 3:16, “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching, and admonishing one another,” and Psalm 19:7-10, “The instruction of the Lord is perfect, renewing one’s life; the testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. The precepts of the Lord are right, making the heart glad; the command of the Lord is radiant, making the eyes light up. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are reliable and altogether righteous. They are more desirable than gold, than an abundance of pure gold, and sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb.”
