About our Founder
For more than 20 years, Dannet Mitchell has been committed to walking alongside women as they navigate faith, family, leadership, loss, purpose, and the many seasons of life. Her ministry to women began with a simple but deeply held conviction: women need women. We need spaces where we can be known, challenged, encouraged, prayed for, and reminded of what is true.
That conviction led Dannet to establish Women In Fellowship and Encouragement (W.I.F.E.), also known as the We4_ministry, more than two decades ago. Her ministry reflects the Titus 2 model of intentional investment, where women walk alongside one another, share wisdom, strengthen one another’s faith, and make room for the next generation to flourish in the Word of God. For Dannet, Titus 2 is more than a ministry model. It is a way of life.
A native of Jamaica and a longtime resident of the Philadelphia area, Dannet’s life has been shaped by a deep love for God’s Word, active church involvement, family, education, and a commitment to serving others. She and her family are active members of Risen Hope Church in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania, where she serves as Co-Leader of Risen Women’s Ministry, supporting a diverse community of women as they live out the Titus 2 model of mature women investing in and mentoring younger women. She also leads the Risen Prayer Ministry and teaches Bible Study, with a passion for helping others grow in Bible literacy and learn to apply God’s Word through obedience, prayer, and everyday life.
Her investment extends beyond women’s ministry. As President and Co-founder of B.E.S.T. Academies LLC, an educational organization she established with her late husband, Edgar Allan Jr., she has spent more than 20 years investing in students, families, and the next generation. Through ministry, education, mentoring, Bible teaching, and prayer, her passion remains the same: to come alongside people and help them grow in truth, wisdom, purpose, and faith.
Dannet’s understanding of walking alongside others has also been profoundly shaped by her own experience of loss. In 2015, she and her four children lost Edgar, her beloved husband and their devoted father. In the years since, grief has not simply been something Dannet has studied or spoken about. It has been something she has had to walk through.
That journey has given deeper meaning to what she has taught women for years: we need one another in the hard places. We need women who will sit with us when there are no easy answers, pray when we cannot find the words, offer wisdom when the way forward is unclear, and remind us of the faithfulness of God when life looks nothing as we expected.
Walking through widowhood, motherhood, ministry, and life after loss has allowed Dannet to experience firsthand the power of the very community she encourages others to build. She understands that spiritual maturity is not demonstrated by having all the answers or by walking without difficulty. It is demonstrated by knowing when to lean on others, when to receive wisdom, when to hold fast to God’s promises, and when to trust the Lord with the things we cannot control.
Her story is not defined by loss, but by the sustaining grace, joy, and hope she has found in Christ. That lived experience continues to shape how she ministers: with compassion for the hard places, confidence in God’s faithfulness, and a willingness to walk alongside others through both sorrow and joy. Today, Dannet continues to pour into women and the next generation through ministry, education, prayer, Bible teaching, and intentional relationships. She believes deeply that what God entrusts to us is meant to be poured into others. Her desire is to help women flourish in the Word, find joy in the Lord, and rest their hope in Him.
At the heart of Dannet’s life and ministry is Colossians 3:16: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly... teaching and admonishing one another.” Dannet seeks to live that charge by walking alongside others with grace and truth, believing that when women are rooted in Christ and willing to invest in one another, we do more than grow together. We become women who help others grow.
